Battersby hospitalised after X Games crash in Aspen

NZ free skier Rose Battersby has been hospitalised in America after a serious crash at the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado.

Her crash has been aired online and it appears she missed the jump and landed on her back.

Reports say she suffered a lumbar spine fracture and is believed to be in a stable condition in a Denver hospital.

The 19-year-old Taupo skier had qualified for the slopestyle women's final before the crash.

She attended Tauhara College and is believed to have Ngāti Porou lineage.
