Statistics say family violence is responsible for 35 deaths on average every year.
The People's Blueprint "Glenn Inquiry", released today, is the culmination of a two-year inquiry kick-started by Sir Owen Glenn, who put $3mil of his own money into the project.

150 people took part in today's march and are fighting for the safety of their community.
Every week family services in Waitākere are getting 100 callers from families who have experienced family violence in Waitākere. 60% of those callers are Māori.
Ruihana Elia says, “There's so many of us in the health sector, the Police force and waves who are trying to smooth out this crisis. We're here to listen to their stories and evaluate how we can stop women and child abuse recurring.”
“Our children are affected by this cycle because it stems from their parents,” says Shane White.
In this Glenn Inquiry report for family violence, 3000 women and children flee to safe houses. Nearly 4000 seek court-backed protection orders. 81,000 crisis calls to Women's Refuge.
Police attend about 95,000 family violence incidents a year, that's 21 calls a day.
