Māori breakdancer qualifies for world championships

Only one New Zealander will head to the breakdancing Battle of the Year World Finals in Germany in October after the weekend's Red Rat Pacific qualifier.

Aron Mahuika, aka B-Boy AKORN, is one of NZ's most reputable and accomplished B-boys.

He's won back-to-back national and international titles here in NZ and in Australia for the past few years.

Former NZ B-Girl champion Awatea Christensen and her partner weren't able to secure their national pairs title at the weekend.

The B-girl title was won by Australian breakers Tiny Lox and Flix.
