Māori filmmakers cater for Hollywood's hunger for stories

Wairoa Māori Film Festival director Leo Koziol says Māori filmmakers help to fill Hollywood's insatiable hunger for stories.

Examples include Taika Waititi, who 15 years ago was nominated for an Oscar for Two Cars, One Night.

Now that a Māori has ascended to the pinnacle of filmmaking fame, Koziol hopes Māori will continue to tell their own stories as well.
