How Covid-19 has hit the Navajo nation

Indigenous people around the world have been disproportionately affected by Covid-19 including the American-Indian Navajo tribe in the United States.

The Navajo nation is one of the largest bands of American Indians. The Navajos live in the southwest US in areas that are today Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah.

The business development director of Native American initiatives, Karen Diver, herself from the Chippewa Nation in Minnesota, says the Navajo tribe has recorded more than 5,500 cases.

 More to come.
