Police have charged 6 people in relation to an incident in the Central North Island yesterday which sparked a major Police search operation impacting heavily on Ohakune, Waiouru and Raetihi.
One of those arrested, Dolphy Kohu was located last night with another suspect at a road block set up in Waiouru and Police say one firearm was recovered from the vehicle.
The charges faced by members of the group include attempted murder, using and being a party to using a firearm against a law enforcement officer and unlawful taking of and getting into a motor vehicle.
The four men and two women arrested will appear in the Whanganui District Court this morning.
Police say they are still trying to locate one other person in relation to the incident and further charges may be laid as the investigation progresses.
