Breakers import out for 6 to 8 weeks

Breakers import Ben Woodside will be out with a foot injury for 6 to 8 weeks, after what appears to be a plantar fascia injury.

Woodside injured his foot in overtime on Friday during the Breakers win over Melbourne United and missed the club's successful third consecutive win against Brisbane Bullets on Sunday in Auckland.

Breakers coach Paul Henare says, “He’s had a scan and has ruptured the three bands of his plantar fascia, so it’s various time frames, 6-8 weeks type of injury.

We will look to bring somebody in and starting that process now. One thing that we’re conscious of is making sure that we’re doing the right thing and it’s pretty tough for him and a pretty serious injury that he’s got to deal with.”

The Breakers meet Cairns Taipans this Friday at Vector Arena.
