Bright future for Māori road licensing initiative

Māori have some of the country's highest rates of unlicensed drivers and road accidents, and for the past five years, David Ratu's company “Access” has sought to change these statistics.

According to Mr Ratu, “We knew we needed to target our own people because we rank so highly in the stats for unlicensed drivers and road accidents.”

David is the CEO of Access, but likes to be as hands-on as possible when training his students, and believes his training methods are tailored specifically to Māori youth.

“We're familiar with Māori kids and we know how they learn best. That's our focus, to ensure the learning style meets the student's needs.”

Without a doubt, Access will help the country's unlicensed population onto the road of success.
