Gallery: Campbell Live supporters present petition to TV3

Supporters of Campbell Live converged on TV3 to call for the show to remain on the channel following an announcement that a review was underway into the current affairs programme.

On arrival at TV3, one of the protesters told those who took part, “we need John Campbell and his team to continue fighting for us, against poverty and all the needs that New Zealand faces.”

Accompanied by chants of “Save Campbell Live” a group also took a petition inside the TV3 building with at least 100,000 signatures calling for the show to remain.

John Campbell emerged to greet the group and was met with cheers and a round of applause.

He greeted the group warmly and gave an emotional thank you to the crowd for all their support and introduced the Campbell Live team

As well as Auckland a number of other events showcasing support for the show were also held in Christchurch and Wellington.

Native Affairs will have more on this story on Monday at 8:30pm on Māori Television.
