Ngāti Porou hooker Dane Coles has been named captain of the Hurricanes for 2016.
Coles says, “A team, I'm really passionate about and a challenge I'm looking forward to.”
Coles has definitely gained recognition at an international level, a superb way to top off a stellar year for the 28-year-old.The All Black star will replace departing leader Conrad Smith.
Halfback TJ Perenara was named vice captain of the side. He says, “Hugely honoured to be able to support Colesy in our goals this year and help lead the team as well."
The full Hurricanes side is expected to start preseason training, January 5th under the watchful eye of their newly appointed Māori captains.
