Cuts in fuel tax and public transport fares extended to 2023

The government has extended the existing cuts in petrol tax, road user charges and half-price public transport fares until 2023. They were due to end next month. 

Minister of Finance Grant Robertson said the "cost of living pressures are making it tough for New Zealand right now" and the extension until the end of January next year would give households "some certainty over the coming months in the face of volatile prices at the pump".
