Dancer pumps up Krump fitness

Krump is one of the fastest growing high-intensity forms of dance in New Zealand. The dance which was first introduced to South Auckland dancer Ennaolla Paea in 2012 has become her life.

Ennaolla Paea says Krumping is a great way to get a fit body.

Ennaolla Paea says “With Krump I can be dead like after two minutes and I'm just gone and if you see the movements its high excursion of power and massive stability and control required”.

At age 8, Ennaolla started to dance however it wasn't until she was 24 that she was introduced to Krumping.   The personal trainer hopes to introduce a number of new initiatives to help those looking to learn dance and get fit.
"Most of the women who are interested are actually mums, so they might be young mums and that's the period of life that you are like what now, I can't do my old dreams, but in my way I am thinking why can't you do your old dreams' says   Ennaolla.

The dance known as Krumping is a street dance popularized in the United States that is characterized by free, expressive, exaggerated, and highly energetic movement.
Ennaolla says "I went to the United States, I was at world Champs and Tight eyes (Ceasare "Tight Eyez" Willis) to co-founder of Krump was there and he was taking a workshop".

Ennaolla believes the dance has grown considerably within the last three years.

“One of the other co-founders his name is Biggie  (Jo'Artis "Big Mijo" Ratti) he said, he came to NZ and he experienced the haka and he then went back and he was teaching a workshop with a global mix of people from around the world. He said NZ has the haka they have something to draw from” says Ennaolla.

Ennaolla will also be forming a group of dancers next New Year.
