Despite loss Wainui display thrilling performance

It was their first time in a premiere rugby final, and Wainui laid it all out on the field against Hutt Old Boys Marist in a nail-biting game.

Busloads of Wainui supporters left their valley to get in behind the team in the Jubilee Cup Final in Petone.

The game was neck and neck right till the last quarter, when a lack of discipline got the best of Wainui.

According to Greg Lealofi, “We had a good start, just the last ten minutes went to sleep and we couldn’t really get back into the game.”

Even though Wainui went down, 14 points to 11, the most important thing now for Wainui is to strengthen the foundation of the team.  Despite Wainui not winning today, the boys remain focused on what lies ahead for them.
