EXCLUSIVE: Interview with Peter Hillary upon his return from Nepal

Tonight on Native Affairs, we have an exclusive in-depth interview with Peter Hillary, the son of Sir Edmund.  Peter shares his first-hand account of the terrifying moment the avalanche stuck after Nepal's catastrophic earthquake.

As the death toll from the devastating Nepal Earthquake continues to climb, a group of New Zealanders touched down in Aotearoa this morning.

Peter Hillary, son of Sir Ed, was leading a group of his old school mates on a trek to Everest Base Camp when the earthquake struck - triggering an avalanche that killed dozens on the mountain.

Peter said as they returned down the mountain it became increasing apparent how widespread the disaster was.

Native Affairs has an exclusive interview with Peter Hillary and his friend Russell Tills about their time in Nepal.

Native Affairs, Monday 8.30pm, live-streamed and on demand.
