Final four alternative flags revealed

The final four alternative flags were revealed at Te Papa in Wellington this morning.

Initially, 10,000 submissions were made and were shortlisted to just 40 flags options, however, the Flag Consideration Panel made the announcement and New Zealand now has four potential new flags to choose from.

Two of the four flags were designed by Kyle Lockwood.

The first referendum, to be held between November and December, will give eligible voters the chance to choose their favourite of the four designs.  The flag with the most votes will then go against the current New Zealand flag in another referendum next year.

Te Kāea reporter, Heta Gardiner will bring you more on this tonight at 5:30pm.
