Fox says Māori should look to their own for domestic violence solutions

Former Māori Party Co-Leader Tariana Turia can support Chris Brown but Māori should look to their own for domestic violence solutions.  That from current Māori Party Co-Leader Marama Fox in regard to the American singer being convicted in 2009 of assault against his former partner, Rihanna.

Fox says, "I try and encourage my children to seek out role models within their own whānau."

But former Māori Party Co-Leader Tariana Turia says Chris Brown's story aligns with the Whānau Ora programme.

Fox says, "She's entitled to her own view.  He could perhaps be a positive role model for some."

Today Brown tweeted his thoughts about his reform.  But Marama Fox says that doesn’t mean anything.

Broadcaster Willie Jackson, who was supportive of convicted rapist Mike Tyson coming to New Zealand, will also decide tonight whether or not he'll support Brown's entry into the country.
