Goff pushes for War Pension Act

The NZ Navy and SAS expected Danny Makara to have their back when he enlisted, but when he was on the verge of losing his home, they didn't have his.

Makara was part of a special unit of 26 that fought in Vietnam. Whilst there he injured his back, and upon return was granted a war pension, but then the tables had turned.

Labour Party spokesman, Phil Goff says there are hundred's of war veteran's suffering like Danny Makara. On May 6th he will be challenging the Government to spare a thought to those suffering.

Pending just one more MP vote for it to pass, which could be either Peter Dunne or John Banks.

Dunne was a big supporter of the Nepata brothers, whose bid for compensation was again rejected earlier this year.
