Last night at approximately 6:50pm a commercial passenger plane leaving the Wellington Airport was targeted by a green laser beam in the aircrafts cockpit.
The flight took off to towards the North, but as the Pilot started to climb over the Petone, Lower Hutt area, the Pilot reported a green laser beam in the cockpit.
The use of laser into the cockpit of an aircraft can have very serious consequences for the aircraft, its crew and their passengers.
Police are concerned about the level of intelligence of someone committing such an act. Any person found committing this type of offence can expect to appear in court.
