Hawke's Bay Museum re-opens

The Hawke's Bay museum has been closed for three years, but the community's vision and dreams were realised today with the reopening of the Hawke's Bay museum.

While the exterior might be bare, there are treasures within from throughout the Hawke's Bay, from Wairoa to Waimārama to Wairarapa.

The Napier Mayor, Barbara Arnott, is one of the museum trustees and she believes people will be queuing to come to the museum and learn about the history of the area.

She says, 'It's been closed for three years, but now the stories and treasures of Hawke's Bay are accessible for the people of Hawke's Bay.'

While the museum was opened today, the exhibitions aren't officially open to the public until Saturday.
