Hikawera Elliot extends contract with Chiefs

Chiefs Hooker, Hikawera Elliot has confirmed he has signed for an extra two years with Rugby New Zealand.

The decision arose just days before his 100th Super Rugby appearance in this Saturdays match against the Highlanders.

Elliot's playing days seemed over since a bad neck injury he sustained while playing for the Māori All Blacks against Canada in November 2013.

He was thrown a lifeline in Super Rugby with the Chiefs.

The Former All Black had considered retirement from rugby but was determined to make a full recovery.

He adds another key motivation for the All Black World Cup Squad this year.
