Huntly pumped for Waka Ama Sprint Championship

As the Waka Ama Nationals approach, the hard work continued today for the Huntly Waka Club as they prepared at their headquarters.

The lake, in which they train at, is seen to be one of the most perfect locations according to club coach, Patrick Tākoko.

“Lake Puketirini was formerly a mine pit and is a great place to train in rowing and Waka Ama.”

As veteran coach Tākoko steers towards the national championships, he is certain to never forget the waterways that enable their club to survive.

This Huntly club will be among the multitudes that will descend on Lake Karāpiro for the 25th Annual Active Post National Waka Ama Sprint Championships on the 13th January, Next Year.
