Hurricanes making waves on the Coast

It's Day 2 of the Hurricanes' road trip to the East Coast in preparation for the 2015 Super 15 season, and their first pre-season game against the Crusaders at Eketahuna.

It was a day off for the players and management who had a choice of three activities, fishing, surfing or golf.

The team made sure to fuel up before their afternoon adventures.

Local and ex-Māori All Blacks captain Rua Tipoki is in charge of leading the keen fisherman in the team to the best spots.

"We're heading off to Whareongaonga Bay and hopefully catch some snapper or hapuka, but that's really up to Tangaroa," says Tipoki.

For those who stayed on shore, went kayaking.

"Gizzy" is famous for their surf and hub for surfing talent, but it looks like these Hurricane boys' talent for surfing is literally a wipeout!

The rest of the squad spent the afternoon on the greens.

To wrap, tomorrow though the squad will be back on the training field.
