Iwi angered by Curran’s accusations

“Clare Curran, MP for Dunedin, must resign her position as MP because she has no credibility and is not fit to represent this country.”

This call from Te Maru o Ngāti Rangiwewehi after Curran used parliamentary privilege to publicly make accusations about Paora Maxwell while he was applying for the position of CEO of Māori Television.

Clare Curran told Te Kāea today that she has no intention of resigning and she was raising an important issue about appointment processes at a taxpayer-funded organisation.

She also said that Mr Maxwell is entitled to raise any concerns he has through the appropriate Parliamentary process and she would respond as part of that process.
