Justice Minister looks to rehabilitate rather than recycle

Minister of Justice Andrew Little says repealing the Three Strikes Law is a step closer to helping reduce the disproportionate number of Māori in prison.

Little says the law isn't working and the government needs to find new ways to address criminal behaviour. He believes the focus should turn towards addressing issues like mental health, addiction and literacy to rehabilitate as opposed to recycling them through the system.
