The Ngāti Kahungunu Sports Awards was held in Hastings this week, and this year's winner of the Junior Sportsman Award was NZ Sevens player Trinity Spooner-Neera. With his outstanding performance in Hong Kong, he was an easy choice for the award.
Teammate Gillies Kaka also took home an award for Senior Māori Sportsman alongside softball player Thomas Makea.
