Kiwi expat says Japan is a second home

A young Ngāti Porou teacher has found a home away from home in Japan and says there are many opportunities for Māori to succeed there.

Luke Bradley has lived in Japan for eight years teaching English and playing rugby.

It's no easy feat getting around in Tokyo but for Luke Bradley, it's become second nature.

When he first arrived, he struggled with the language.

In 2011, when the tsunami struck, many expat Kiwis left the country, but Bradley stayed on.

Though he has somewhat mastered the language, there are still things he misses about home.

Bradley has gained a lot from this overseas experience and it has become a home away from home for him.
