Kura uses kapa haka to raise suicide awareness

With the National Secondary Schools competition just around the corner, many schools across the country are in practise mode as they prepare their performances.

TKKM O Ngāti Kahungunu ki Heretaunga will be taking the stage with a message that is dear to their heart, and that's making sure not another person is lost to suicide.

Raising awareness around suicide is something the group is passionate about, and they will be showcasing that when they take the stage in the East Coast at the end of this month.

According to Rahina Huata, “If there are no young people, there will be no leaders for tomorrow, because suicide is taking our youth away.”

There will be many more hours of practicing as they work to perfect their routines and their songs so that the message they carry will touch hearts.
