Locals urge Raggamuffin organisers to keep festival on-going

By Rahia Timutimu

Rotorua is known to locals as the home of the Raggamuffin festival hope to keep it that way but times are changing and fewer locals are buying tickets.

60% of people buying tickets for the Raggamuffin festival come from Auckland, perhaps it would be more economical to hold the event in Auckland, however, this weekend organisers hope to draw in a crowd of over 20,000.

For one of the ticket holders who hails from Auckland, Rotorua is an awesome venue to hold the festival because it gives them a break from being in Auckland.

The first band to take to the stage this afternoon is Soljah, from Kaipara Auckland.

But the superstar for the night is definitely Shaggy, ending the event tonight at 11pm.
