MacDonald gets the call from Māori ABs

Quentin MacDonald awoke early yesterday morning to watch the Māori All Blacks take on Canada, and not long after noticing Hikawera Elliot had been injured, he got the call to pack his bags and join the squad in America.

MacDonald is yet to discuss with Coach Colin Cooper exactly where he'll fit into the side, but he's keen to contribute wherever he can.

MacDonald could be in line with a start, as he'll be the only specialist hooker in the squad, and he's well aware of what's expected of him, having been part of the touring side to the UK last year.

Piri Weepu was also ruled out with a knee injury. Chris Smylie was called in as halfback cover, ahead of the favoured, Frae Wilson.
