Schools were in lockdown this morning as Police searched and found 45-year-old Brent Scott, in connection to a triple stabbing on Auckland's North Shore.

One woman has died, while two others remain in critically condition in hospital.  Scott is currently in custody at the North Shore Police Station.

Police have confirmed the woman who died is in fact his wife 42-year-old Heidi Scott from South Africa.

Police have also confirmed the other victims were their 22-year-old daughter and her partner also aged 22.

Scott will appear in the North Shore District Court tomorrow.

Te Kāea spoke with a number of witnesses who said they heard a woman screaming on Mahoney Drive around 9am, and they all came out of their homes and found three bodies lying on the pavement.

There is no doubt the community is in shock following this incident.
