Māori AB's 2nd day in the mix

It’s the second day the Māori All Blacks have been in Toronto.

Ngāi Tūhoe and Ngāti Porou descendent Kane Hames, started his day by getting straight into the midst of it

It's been a whirlwind of a year for Kane playing his first season of the ITM Cup with Bay of Plenty, then gaining a Super 15 contract with the Highlanders, then to top it all off, he's in Toronto with the Māori All Blacks.

For the past 5 years Kane had worked as a development officer for the Bay of Plenty rugby union. His hard-work, commitment and steely determination are the key drivers to reaching his goals.

Having the support of his family and a journey worth making them proud, he also joins Piri Weepu & Joe Royal to make it three Te Aute old boys in the team this year.

And while Kane is more than happy with his year to date, a starting spot in the Māori jersey would be the icing on the cake for 2013.

Our reporter Rewa Harriman is in Toronto with the team.
