Māori All Blacks focus on scrums for upcoming test against Japan

23,000 tickets have been sold for the second test between the Māori All Blacks and Japan at Prince Chichibu Stadium in Tokyo tomorrow.

The team had the morning off with only the Captain's Run at the stadium in the afternoon but it's getting down to the business end of the week.

While they won the first test convincingly, the scrums were the sore point and an area that was focused on heavily in training this week.

It was back to Scrums 101 for the Māori All Blacks this week.

The scrum was the weakest part of their game last Saturday, giving away too many penalties, including two penalty tries.

It's clear there's been a focus on the scrum and working better as a forward pack in this set piece.

Despite the issues with the scrum in the first test, Mike enjoyed every minute of his first cap as a Māori All Blacks beginning with the haka.

With an extra week under their belts, Mike and the forward pack intend to hold their own come scrum time.
