Māori centered approach needed to help mental wellbeing during isolation

The stresses that come with COVID-19 are taking their toll on whānau around the country, mostly caused by job losses making it harder for families to make ends meet.

While the government has launched a mental health campaign to help kiwis care for their mental wellbeing during the crisis, psychiatrist Dr Diana Kopua says a Māori centered approach is what's needed for Māori.

Tapatahi spoke to Dr Kopua about what she thinks can be done to better support Māori.
