Māori language added to Berridge's walk out song

The Māori language will be incorporated into the Knockout Excitement boxing event.

New Zealand Light Heavyweight Rob Berridge is acknowledging his Māori heritage by adding a Māori war chant to his walk-out song called Sober from rock band Tool.

The Māori chant was composed by Rahui Papa of Ngāti Koroki-Kahukura and voiced by Tainui's Kawariki Morgan.

The Ngāi Tahu boxer says he wanted to acknowledge his Māori heritage.

At the official weigh-in, Berridge weighed in at 78.6kgs. Joseph Parker weighed in at 103.6kgs and is ready to fight.

Things were looking up for Parker as Larry Holmes turned up at the Sands Hotel and provided him with some valuable knowledge.

If both fighters win tomorrow talk is they could be back in America fighting very soon.
