Māori TV to broadcast royal visit to Tūrangawaewae

Māori Television will broadcast all the details as the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall meet with King Tuheitia at Tūrangawaewae Marae this Sunday. This will be their longest stop of the Royal Tour.

The event will be broadcast on television and online at maoritelevision.com.  It will kick off at 11:30am and will be hosted by Mātai Smith.

The Royals will receive a formal traditional welcome reserved for the most distinguished guests.  The welcome will include multiple kaiwero, kaikaranga and a mass haka pōwhiri.

Waikato has also organised a spectacular waka tauā parade in their honour, followed by afternoon tea with prominent iwi leaders and other invited guests.  War veterans, business leaders and Waikato secondary school prefects are amongst those invited.
