There'll be a change in the method of payment at Te Matatini in Rotorua this year in February.
Food, drink and other items can be purchased at the festival by using an AWOP card.
There will be several AWOP sites around the stadium, where cash or eftpos is used to load AWOP cards with the desired amount.
This method of purchase was used this year at the Rhythm and Vines concert in Gisborne.
Ticketek says the system will provide useful data.
