Miromoda to showcase emerging Māori designers at NZ Fashion Week

New Zealand Fashion Week kicks off today in Auckland.  This year, 13 outstanding Māori designers will present their work as a part of the Miromoda fashion show on August 27.

Miromoda, an indigenous fashion board founded by Ata Te Kanawa, has fostered and promoted indigenous fashion designers for the last 7 years at New Zealand Fashion Week.

Each year, Miromoda host a competition, which gives the finalist a chance to present their designs at New Zealand Fashion Week under the Miromoda Showcase.

One to watch is Steve Hall who was voted supreme winner of the Miromoda Fashion Design Award this year.  The emerging designer is also known for winning the MiNDFOOD Style top prize at the iD International Emerging Designer Awards in Dunedin in April.
