Mitai Rolleston book launch

The legacy of Mitai Rolleston has now been published in dedication to him.

Known for his work with in people of Ngāti Whakaue, Mitai Rolleston died on July 6, 2013, aged 77 advocating on behalf of his iwi for decades while working for a number of community organisations.

James Rolleston says, “Today marks the anniversary of the one year passing of my dad and to have a book launch on your day is pretty special and to have your own daughter write it.”

According to Pihopa Kingi, “Ngāti Whakaue mourn for Mitai of Ngāti Whakaue, Te Arawa and Ngāi Te Rangi.”

For 10 years, Mitai was involved in the set-up of Ngāti Whakaue Taumata and also was its chairman.

The “Mitai Rolleston” book is available through his family and Ngāti Whakaue.
