Morgan to hold presser on King Tūheitia's health

Tukoroirangi Morgan will be holding a press conference today at Te Mānukanuka o Hoturoa Marae in Auckland to give an official update on the King's health.

Last night, it was reported that King Tūheitia had suffered a heart-attack and was admitted to Waikato Hospital.  However, that information was incorrect.

It has been well-known for some time that he had been suffering from both diabetes and cancer, and was the main reason he was unable to attend last year's Koroneihana (Coronation celebrations) in Ngāruawāhia to deliver his official address to the nation.

However, just recently at this year's Koroneihana, despite being unwell, he returned before the masses to voice his concerns about the controversy surrounding his son Korotangi, and to announce a new honours list established.

Here is his official address given just last Thursday

Last night, an assembly of marae loyals gathered at Tūrangawaewae to pray for his speedy recovery and well-being, and again this morning.
