Mountain Warrior to fight Super 8 champ Meehan

Shane 'The Mountain Warrior' Cameron (Rongomaiwahine) is to fight Kali Meehan for WBA Heavyweight Crown in November.

The former NZ heavyweight champion first confirmed with Te Kāea his intention to fight last week.

Shane Cameron says it's better to die like a shark than a limp octopus.

It’s do-or-die come November, and if he wins, he'll reassess his next move, but if he loses, he'll call it quits.

Te Kāea understands Sky Arena was close to putting pen to paper for a David Tua versus Kali Meehan match-up, but due to study commitments, Tua wasn't available, leaving an opportunity open for Cameron.

Cameron has called Tua to inform him of the offer on table.

Cameron hasn't been in the ring since he lost to Brian Minto in December.  He also says he could've taken an easy fight, but he's made a career out of taking the toughest fights available.
