This Friday, Ngāti Kauwhata boxer Ricky Murphy will make his second professional appearance in the ring, a fight that has given head trainer, Shane 'The Mountain Warrior' Cameron the hunger to step back into the ring at the end of the year.
Since Ricky Murphy was 8 years old he has stood in Shane Cameron's corner to give his support and help, now the role has changed.
After a successful fighting career Cameron is teaching his trades to Murphy. As head trainer Cameron is seen holding pads however they have also sparred each other.
That has led to a desire for Cameron to get back into the ring at the end of year but it is still uncertain who he will fight.
Murphy will fight his biggest fight to date against Peter Tovio who has fought in the ring with both Rob Berridge and Adrian Taihia.
Murphy is confident he will come out on top this Friday.
