New Zealand's best pie was revealed at last night's 19th annual Bakels New Zealand Supreme Pie Awards in Auckland.
Out of 513 entries, the potato-top pie from New World Greenmeadows bakery in Napier took out the supreme award.
Judges described the pie as a "perfect ratio between a flavoursome filling, a super creamy potato top, and a delicious pastry shell."
The 21 judges spent more than 10 hours judging 5200 pies.
All together, there were 49 awards presented. The baker of the Supreme Pie took home the Supreme Pie Maker trophy and $7,500, while Gold award winners received $1000.
