Native Affairs – Outnumbered

Around 670,000 people living in Aotearoa are of Māori descent.  But our population is going through some dramatic changes.  For a start Māori women outnumber men in every tribe, and we're having fewer kids.

Our rights as tangata whenua are also looking shaky, because the number of Māori is being outstripped by increasing numbers of migrants.  So how does this affect our customs and our place in New Zealand today?  Wena Harawira investigates.
