Native Affairs - Doug Hughes Panel

Earlier this year we brought you the story of Corporal Doug Hughes, a Māori soldier serving his second tour of duty in Afghanistan, who committed suicide just days before he was due to return home.

Well last week, following a request for a full coronial inquiry into the death of Corporal Doug Hughes by his whanau, the former Defence Minister, Phil Goff and Labour MP Andrew Little, the Solicitor-General announced there'd be no new inquiry into his death - upholding the Military's own investigation saying there was no new evidence to consider this, despite numerous concerns raised about the army's own conduct in regards to Doug's death.

To discuss this Mihingarangi Forbes is joined by Phil Goff, journalist Tony Wall and former New Zealand Army Major Derek Tunui.
