Native Affairs - Hammer Time!

500 years ago Hammer Throwing was one of the first sports at the Olympic games.

It originated in Scotland but now the sport is proving popular in a small Māori community in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

Edgecumbe College has opened the country's first hammer throwing academy, and as Semiramis Holland discovered it's also improving the educational achievement of its tauira.
