Native Affairs - Kōwhiri 14, Tāmaki Makaurau Part 2

The Native Affairs - Kōwhiri 14 Tāmaki Makaurau special continues and Mihingarangi Forbes is joined in the Auckland studio by the four leading candidates contesting the Tāmaki Makaurau seat.

From the MANA Movement Kereama Pene, representing Labour Peeni Henare, from the Greens Marama Davidson and representing the Māori Party, Tunuiarangi McLean.

Ōrākei Marae is one of Tamaki Makaurau's most picturesque. It's also home to the battleground of Bastion Point. We sent our reporter Ruwani Perera to meet locals of Boot Hill.

She also asks the candidates, what ideas do you have to develop educational opportunities to keep our rangatahi in school?

Also in our first set of Māori Television Reid Research Poll results, we asked voters;

If the Māori Party held the balance of power, would you prefer they went into partnership with a National-led or Labour-led coalition?

25% of participants wanted a National-led coalition, while 63% prefer a Labour-led coalition while 12% don't know or were not open to either.
