Native Affairs - Kōwhiri 14, Te Tai Tokerau Part 2

The tussle for Te Tai Tokerau continues on the final Native Affairs-Kōwhiri 14 Māori electorate debate.

Incumbent MP for the region and Internet MANA leader Hone Harawira, Labour’s Kelvin Davis and Te Hira Paenga of the Māori Party are in studio with Mihingarangi Forbes.

Before revealing the first set of Māori television Reid Research Poll results our reporter Billie Jo Hohepa Ropiha first takes us to the city of Whangarei.

Billie Jo Hohepa Ropiha says what really grabbed her was the issue around Māori who feel stigmatised by their criminal convictions, so she asks candidates what they think needs to happen for them to have a second chance without being hindered by their past?

Also in our first set of Poll results for Te Tai Tokerau we asked voters.

If the Māori Party held the balance of power, would you prefer they went into partnership with a National-led or Labour-led coalition?

19% of participants preferred a National-led coalition, while a whopping 66 % would rather see a Labour-led coalition, 15% don't know or other.
