Native Affairs - Parihaka

Tātarakihi - The Children of Parihaka is a feature length documentary that's been earning rave reviews from local film critics.

The film follows a group of Taranaki kids who take a road trip down country to visit the places where their tūpuna, passive resistors from Parihaka, were imprisoned .

Along the way, the kids were welcomed at local marae by the descendants of those who'd supported the Parihaka prisoners.

The story is told by the tamariki themselves and documented by director/producer Paora Joseph.
