Native Affairs Summer Series 2014 - Soup Lady

In the Native Affairs Summer Series we look back at the year in review.

Tonight, an elderly couple evicted from their kaumatua flat, a whānau raided by police in Ruatoki and Māori carvers struggling to carve out a living.

First up, she's known as the Soup Lady. Debbie Munro is a one-woman campaign offering food and sustenance to those who can't always manage to feed themselves.

Several nights of the week she's out on the streets of South Auckland and she knows how tough it can be for some of the estimated 270-thousand children who live in poverty.

Ruwani Perera reports, Debbie Munroe's doing what she can.
