In 2014, forty Pilot whales stranded and died near Opotiki. Now the remains of those whales or tohora may unlock the secrets to whale strandings. Native Affairs received an exclusive invitation to visit one of the most significant whale research projects in the world. It's being led by a small iwi who've turned their marae into a science lab.
